The solution of this object ambiguous for many specialists, nevertheless, was a reaction to the character of development on 1-ya Brestskaya Street. Such character could be described as pessimistic, thanks to the deadlock with a rather long perspective going away to it. Firstly we suggested a traditional corniced parallelepiped taken without any optimism. Only a curvilinear vertical silhouette approximately along one third of street length solved the problem of the deadlock having eliminated its dominance.

 

At the same time we obtained a logical completion of pluralistic sense of development: many buildings unlike each other, connected by nothing except frontal lines were added by another one, unlike all the rest. As a result the street became to look like a metropolitan one according to its location.

 

It is curious that from the moment of demolition of the “Inturist” hotel as an example of «non Moscow» style, there passed only some years. It would be very desirable to believe that the concept «Moscow character» in architecture of the Russian capital became considerably wide.
